Dear Friends and Family,
The world opened again for our family in 2022 with mixed results. We started traveling and moving around. Five of us got mild cases of Covid in September in separate locations. Susan and Rich finally caught up with Hilary, Sword, and Ben in October. They remain grateful that everyone is vaxxed, healthy and safe.
Andrea and Bobby returned to their pre-pandemic practice of dividing their time between New York City and their house near Hudson, NY. Bobby continues to play gigs locally and conduct online workshops and classes. Granddaughter Lyra (almost 2) is a big fan of his drumming. Andrea traveled to Jihlava, Czech Republic in October for the world premiere of her film, THE END IS NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, at the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival. Follow both of them at www.andreakleine.com, and www.bobbyprevite.com.
2022 was a year of big changes for Hilary, Sword, and Ben. Over the summer, they left Richmond, VA and moved to Hudson, NY, 20 minutes from Andrea and Bobby. Hilary, now Vice President at Donate Life America, works remotely full-time. Sword (8th grade) and Ben (6th grade) are thriving at Hudson Junior High, where Sword (now 14) is on the Yearbook Committee and active in the Drama Club. Ben (now 12) still loves his video games and plays them with his friends far and wide. Susan and Rich are glad to have them 2 ˝ hours away.
Jared and Seema still live in NYC. Jared received his MFA from Columbia and had a fiction piece (Wild Edibles) published in the Baltimore Review in Fall 2022. Seema works on her writing projects and homeschools Sunny, 9. Vishnu, 12, a sixth grader, continues producing and narrating YouTube videos.
Rich observed his 5th anniversary as the lead IT guy for Jedwards International, Inc. in 2022. He still works remotely three days a week., one positive result of the pandemic, and supports the work of independent singer/songwriters online and in person. This year, for the first time since 2020, Susan and Rich shared meals with two of their favorite musicians when they played in the Boston area. Our calendar stays full on in-person concert dates all MA, CT, and NH.
Susan’s consulting practice, History Behind the Scenes, restarted in 2022 with her 7th project for the Texas Historical Commission. Her consultant team is now back together and traveled to the Texas Panhandle twice to work on an Interpretive Master Plan for the Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historic site. Susan resumed her annual summer travels to the ALHFAM Conference (Tacoma, WA) and Summer Acoustic Music Week (SAMW) in NH. Her virtual songwriters’ group is still going strong.
We wish all a Happy New Year and better times for 2023.
