Dear Friends and Family

After an adventurous, overwhelming, eye-opening and joyous trip to India just after the 2003 Holiday letter for Jared’s marriage to Seema Srivastava, the Hanson-Kleine family returns to the Big Apple for this year’s holiday celebration. For those of you who did not see the wedding and travel pictures, all taken by Rich, go to www.sarj.org. That’s Susan and Hilary all dressed up in phenomenal Indian textiles. Needless to say they brought back an ample supply for one and all.

Rich still enjoys his position as Director of Site Operations, for Charming Interactive / Charming Shoppes, Inc. His group launched a third successful e-commerce site and is gearing up to establish a catalogue sales operation. He is now webmaster for several fan sites for acoustic singers in the NYC area. Rich and Susan still attend concerts and plays regularly.

Susan continues to work at her museum consulting practice, History Behind the Scenes, working on projects for Howell Living History Farm in New Jersey and others. She gave a paper on her 2003 experiences in Ireland and India at the Association for Living History Farm and Agricultural Museums [ALHFAM] Conference, honing her internet research skills in the process. Susan has gotten more involved with the Sacred Harp Singing Community in New York this past year, supporting a fledging group that meets in a club where some of her and Rich’s favorites perform.

Andrea and Jill are busy with performance, film and writing interests. Andrea received a New York Foundation for the Arts grant to support her writing efforts, as well as a fellowship to the Mac Dowell Colony. Jill teaches journalism at NYU, conducts writing workshops and will become the Astrology columnist for a national magazine in 2005.

Hilary and Josh moved into a new apartment in the Shockoe Bottom section of Richmond over the summer, and barely escaped the swiftly rising flood waters of the James River, courtesy of Tropical Storm Gaston. Hilary is now Professional Services Coordinator at United Network of Organ Sharing [UNOS]. Josh, an attorney, is Assistant Director of the UNOS Evaluation & Quality Department.

It’s hard to believe that Jared and Seema are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Jared is in the 3rd year of a 4-year program to become a naturopathic physician at the University of Bridgeport, where he is also working to gain certification in acupuncture and nutrition. Seema is in the final throes of her doctoral dissertation in art history at NYU, hoping to finish this academic year. They traveled to France again this summer, where Seema did dissertation research.

We wish you and yours all the very best for 2005.
